A father figure is, most of the time anyway, considered the head of the family and from there the head of society. So what happens then when a father falls under the hellish pits of sex addiction? What are the consequences of sex addiction for fathers- the figures we look up to, the figures we shape ourselves from?
As mentioned above, fathers are the forerunners of every expedition, of every brave battle whether it is living our daily lives with a balanced budget or in the battlefield waging war with the oppressors of justice. Many people look up to these figures and it is a major blow to everyone's morale when one such figure is revealed to be addicted to sex, especially when the effects have begun to take their toll. The consequences of sex addiction for fathers are not just limited to the health-related aspects such as STD's. Imagine if the father was a diligent worker and father of four children. If he accidentally got another woman pregnant he could lose his job, go bankrupt and of course ruin his family's life by having to sustain the new family along with the old. Divorces usually arise because the father's addiction to sex and having numerous partners. From divorce come numerous suicide cases.
The consequences do not end there. There were cases where church leaders, known as fathers not only to their family but to the congregation, fall under sex addiction and the morale of the entire church crumbles. Take down the leader and the soldiers scatter across the ground, they say, and this is very true in the case with fathers being addicted to sex.
Fathers are the forerunners of the world. They lead us forward. They lead our families, our finances, our way of life. To witness a father fall under sex addiction is the same as witnessing the world crumble on its knees. The consequences of sex addiction for fathers are not limited to his immediate world but to the world where he lives in.
